aka jones is seriously wrong. Your husband's passport is still valid even if his visa expires so he will have no problems getting back in to the states.
Robbyo, this is a very valid question. While there is no visa requirement to enter the country, you are only allowed to stay 21 days unless you get an extension.

Tom 1941, Gerald J, Dave Star and Avis A are correct. The US Embassy will not be able to help you. I am sure you can find a travel agency in Baguio to take care of this for you. I have had my visit visa extended several times now by the travel agency in my hotel.

You need to contact a Philippine Immigration Office, there is nothing the U.S. Embassy can do to extend your husband's visa, except maybe offer some advice. I don't know where immigration offices are located, but since you are in the Philippines now, it shouldn't be difficult for you to find out, try www.immigration.gov.ph, the website can also answer some of your questions, or maybe he can leave the country for a short period, fly to Hong Kong or somewhere close and get more time when he re-enters. Good luck!

I am just wondering why everyone is asking to contact the American Embassy when in fact, it has nothing to do with the Embassy. The contact agency should be the Bureau of Immigration. I remember my nephew paid 500 pesos way back for each month extension of his visit visa in the Philippines.

Any Philippine Immigration office can extend your visa for less than 2000 pesos. Its no big deal. Even if you don't do it there they just charge you the same fee plus P500 when you get ready to depart. It will cost you a little extra to have a service do it for you if you don't want to spend time at the immigration office. I've extended my stay there many many times. My Filipina wife is now in US so we don't have that worry any more.

It is no big deal to get a Philippine Visa Extension in the Philippines. Most Travel Agencies offer the service. Mr. Travel in Malate renews my Visa for me and the fee is 1500 pesos. I do not have to do anything, but drop my U.S. Passport off with them and they take care of the rest. They have two services one express which only takes about two days and regular service which takes about seven days.

I'm not even certain if this question is valid. I'm an American citizen and go to the PHilippines regularly. To the best of my knowledge, there is no visa requirement for American entry into the philippines. Visit travel.state.gov and go to the Philippine link for more information on immigration and customs. Good luck.

We can file for visa waiver of your husband. Its additional 38 days stay in the Philippines from 21 days granted to him upon arrival. It will be processed in Bureau of Immigration not in US Embassy. We can do it but we need his passport to be submitted and stamped for the extension of his stay. It must be processed at least 02February to avoid penalty and hassle.

there is a way to get your visa upgraded before you leave the U>S
most travel agencies will know how to walk through the process of passports and visas. I had to do this before as its a royal pain to do this in the Philippines plus you might run into problems boarding plane.
Why would you wait until the last minute before you took care of your paperwork? Oh well, in the Philippines you usually can grease some palms (graft) and this might work for you. Good Luck
