if you just got a hug for your birthday from someone close to you who COULD afford a card and a cake?

Maybe...it would depend on the relationship with that person. BUT, I would never let them know I was disappointed or hurt about it. I would smile and hug them back.

No, because a hug is much better than a cake and a card, it is the thought that counts, and who needs material things when you are loved. =)

Yeah, i'd want a card..... even if it was home made, or happy birthday written on a post it.
