Just wondering i recently bought a OPK and i was wondering if there was any chance of it getting a positive reading and I really wasn't ovulating. And if it says I'm ovulating does it necessarily mean that it is a good egg or no. I'm really worried because I have been trying for a long time and no luck except for a miscarriage in June.

Thanks in advance!

I think the clear blue easy fertility monitor is the best thing to use, its very accurate. they may cost alot but you get great results and it worked for me. There is no way to tell if it was a good egg or bad egg, all you should hope for is that you get preggo with a healthy baby.

Hi..as I am sure that many people have suggested to you, the first thing that is sooo important when attempting to conceive is-Relaxation.......I know, I know, it is sooooo easy for others to tell you to take it easy, however stress affects so many aspects of the entire miraculous process!!!

Now, next thing is (and you've probably heard this as well), but there is no textbook normal (per say) meaning-no two women have exactly the same factors that contribute to a successful conception and gestation period! Ovulation monitors are not able to tell if what you are expelling is a "good" or a bad egg. Fortunately (and most often unfortunately for those who TRULY desire the blessing of children), nature does work mysteriously, yet miscarriages often indicate an anomaly preventing the healthy life of an individual. My heart goes out to you, and I am sorry to hear of your miscarriage...hopefully your wishes will come to fruition soon!! Have fun trying (and also be really thankful that there are other options in this day and age that we can utilize to obtain parenthood)...last resort of course! GOOD GOOD LUCK!

I'll tell you what I always answer to questions here about conceiving. Read the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. It is an invaluable resource for all women, but especially if you are trying to conceive. I promise you, this book will help you! Forget the ovulation tests, it is a waste of time, hope and money. You can learn how to predict your own ovulation NATURALLY and FOR FREE by reading this book. And also you can learn how to tell if you may have a fertility problem that might be leading to your not concieving, miscarriage, etc. And by the way, if your temp has gone up, it's too late, you've already ovulated. Read the book!

i have BTDT and yes you can get a positive and then not ovulate.. in order to see if this is really happening to you, you need to be charting your temperatures.. are your cycles irregular? that would tell you right there that you are not ovulating all the time. you should be getting a period about 14 days after you ovulate. try the book "taking charge of your fertility" by Toni weschler for info on how to chart temps.
