what would you consider a good bowlers average score?

If you're a recreational bowler (say bowling once a week in a league) then an average of around 180 would be considered good. Your average would be low enough to supply the team with some handicap pins, but high enough where you have the potential to bowl well and make up for the other teams handicap pins.

I don't know. Average scores vary among professional bowlers. I would say 187 is a beginning average and then increase to as much as 220 or more.
