YES you should have took the tree down after new years! IF you still have your tree up, I hope you are keeping it watered because a old dry christmas tree can be hazardous! You can always recycle your tree or plant it in the back yard for next year...ha ha ha If no one wants to help you undecorate....THROW the whole tree away! OBVIOUSLY they dont care about the decorations but please take it down :) THE HOLIDAYS ARE OVER

Depends. Now that I no longer live in Louisiana, I took it down last week. If I was still in La. I would leave it up, strip it of the Xmas decor and replace those with Mardi Gras stuff.
If you think about it, it's not really that long until Easter. You could change it for Valentine's and then St. Patrick's Day and then Easter. J/K - it's probably not a bad idea to go ahead and take it down.

OMG! I thought I was the only one. I have a fake tree that I borrowed from my Mom's garage. The box it came in didn't survive the move from her house to my apartment and fell into pieces once it was here, so I have nothing to put the branches into. The huge X-mas tree boxes at Wal-Mart are 25 bucks. I get paid Thursday so I guess I'll finally give in and buy one. I should probably toss the gingerbread men as well... Maybe throw them into the forest.

Take down the tree. Leave the outside lights 'till May. If you're good, the poinsettia will last 'till next Christmas.

Usually day after New Year's.
Turn on some music and just do the dang thang.
If it's real just throw the whole thing away.
Taking off the ornaments that you want to keep.
If your starting a tradition this is a great time to get ahead.

sweetie, if you like the tree as it is then keep it up. make your tree an "all season" tree! keep the tree up the whole year with the lights and before valentine comes, add little hearts and red ribbons to it.
.....then on easter, add pastel ribbons, little colorful eggs and bunnys to it.
on 4th of july, put little red, white and blue ribbons and tiny american flags.
do the same for holloween and thanksgiving until christmas comes all over again.
when christmas comes, you will have an "all season" tree which you can just keep up all the time!!! all the decorations for the different seasons overlap anyway.....red for christmas, valentines.....angels for christmas, valentines and easter.....red, white and blue also for christmas and 4th of july.....holloween, anything goes for holloween! thanksgiving is almost christmas season so just add little plastic corns, nuts and fruits with gold ribbons....
it will be a masterpiece! and a conversation piece for anyone who comes to your house!!

Yeah, like 3 weeks ago! I take my down New Years day. No one helps me either, except my 2 year old son, who makes more of a mess than he does help!
