No!!!

Even if you deltree from a dos window, the files can easily be recreatred. Even a format leaves traces that an expert can get out. You need to write random data on the drive like the military does. The best way I have found is to boot using the "ultimate Boot CD' from http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/

One of the disk utilities can do this.

Usually a format is enough .... is the info on your drive really that interesting that someone will want to retrieve it???
You could download a free program called "Killdisk" it runs off a floppy and does the "writes random data" thingy that was mentioned before ... it's a lengthy process if you want to be 100% thorough ...if you're really paranoid ... buy a new disk to put in the machine and keep your old one under your pillow?

low level format the drive
u can find some free utilities out there on the internet.

I suggest you use format. Especially the deep format.
