My granfather was deathly afraid of spiders...
My sister and I are afraid of spiders. Her more than me...I can handle small ones, but ones the size of your hand or bigger, scare the hell outa me.
My grandfather - 10 (maybe 50 if the scale went that high)
Me- 1 small ones, 10 BIG ones
My sister 10 all spiders..

I really doubt that it has to do with gender... It could come from any number of things really, a bad experiance, hating the feeling of something crawling on you, thinking it look creepy... Personally I'm a guy who hates spiders so I'd say 6

No...arachnophobia or the fear of spiders...isn't just one gender oriented; it's more from a prior event that you associated from youth or movies. I am not afraid of spiders; yet I am not going to squash them just because...they have their niche in this whole ecological system and without them we would be overrun by their natural prey!

I don't fear spiders, well not the little one's at least but I think the big ones yes! But then again I hate all insects etc...

No a fear of spiders has to do with persoanl experiences, in my case yes I am afraid of spiders. Has ben when I was a kid and a tarantula crauled up my sleeping bag.

Hell no! I'm a man, and I'm terrified of spiders, especially those big Puss Backs or Small ones you see then all of a sudden disappear, and wolf spiders are qucik and SCARY!
