People perish when there is a lack of knowledge. You'd just sit there and die if you'd never learned or been taught how to.. everything!

We don't NEED to learn. We CHOOSE to learn. Most people believe it is important to better themselves and indulge in the knowledge of many different things. Also, we have to learn all of the life skills we use to survive such as communication or street smarts. There are those who would rather sit around their house than learn new things, but they're really missing out on life. Learning doesn't have to be done in a classroom. If you go out into the world, you'll usually learn something new each day.

When we learn, we are benefiting from the experiences of people who have faced similar problems. For example, everyone knows that if you put your hands in a fire, you get burnt. This knowledge does not come inbuilt - we learn that fire burns only by personal experience or by hearing about it from others who have already been burnt.
If we learn from others' experiences, we avoid having to waste time, efforts and resources trying to go through situations that have already been experienced by others before us.
This is why we need to learn, and this is why education is considered very important.

We need to learn to grow and move forward. Whether we like it or not we are learning all the time but may not even be aware that we are.
