"Life springs from death, and from the graves of Patriot Men and Women spring Living Nations." -- Padraig Pearse
"The defenders of this realm have worked well in secret and in the open. They think that they have purchased half of us and intimidated the other half. They think that they have foreseen everything, think that thay have provided against everything; but the fools, the fools, the fools! - they have left us our Fenian dead, and while ireland holds these graves, Ireland unfree shall never be at peace" --Padraig Pearse
"Believe that we too love freedom and desire it. To us it is more desirable than anything in the world. If you strike us down now, we shall rise again and renew the fight. You cannot conquer Ireland; you cannot extinguish the Irish passion for freedom; if our deed has not been sufficient to win freedom then our children will win it with a better deed." --Padraig Pearse
Every man is guilty of all the good he didn't do. - Voltaire

IT DEPENDS ON WHAT SPECIFIC FORM OF ACTION YOU ARE TRYING TO GET OTHERS TO DO & THE CIRCUMSTANCE OF WHETHER IT IS AN INDIVIDUAL YOU ARE DEALING WITH OR WHETHER IT IS A LIMITED GROUP OR IS YOUR GOAL TO START A SPECIFIC OR GENERAL ACTION MOVEMENT AMONG A WHOLE SOCIETAL GROUP.
SINGULARLY IS IT A FREINDLY EFFORT TOWARD ONE PERSON OR DO YOU HAVE A SINISTER REASON.
EXAMPLE: TO YOUR BEST FRIEND; "I dare you to tell your wife you loaned her new car to me for the day".
TO A CO-Worker you may not like but act friendly to: "I bet you a dollar you can't slip out & bring us some of those hamburgers you keep bragging to me about without the boss catching on. I'll pay for the burgers"
TO A SPECIFIC GROUP LIKE A PEP TALK TO A GROUP OF SALESMAN: "I'll bet theres not one other salesman in the room besides Bob Willdo can bring me back a signed contract with a deposit within the hour"
IS YOUR GOAL TO CHALLENGE A WHOLE SOCIETY TO ACHIEVE A CERTAIN AIM? IS IT TO APPEAL TO THEIR PATRIOTISM OR TO PROTEST A SOCIETAL WRONG TO BRING ABOUT CHANGE.
1. "ARE YOU GOING TO LET GOVERNMENT REGULATE YOUR BATHROOM HABITS. HOW MANY PRIVACY RIGHTS VIOLATIONS ARE YOU GOING TO CONTINUE TO ALLOW?"
2. "OUR NATION & EVERY NATIONS SAFETY DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU DECIDE TONIGHT, WILL YOU VOTE TO GIVE UP A LITTLE MORE PRIVACY IN ORDER TO SECURE OUR NATION & OUR WAY OF LIFE"?
KNOW WHAT YOUR MOTIVE IS, THE WANTS & DESIRES OF THE SPECIFIC AUDIENCE, & TAILOR YOUR WORDS SO THAT IT APPEALS TO THEIR BETTER INSTINCTS. MAKE THEM WANT TO ACHIEVE THAT GOAL YOU HAVE IN MIND BY CHALLENGE WORDS THAT APPEAL TO THEIR SPECIFIC LONGINGS.
ALL CHARGED WORDS DEPEND UPON A CHALLENGE OF SOME SORT THAT IS APPEALING & DESIRABLE.
The example one person gave was a good one in that his words were appealing to someone he knew would fight him. "THOSE ARE FIGHTING WORDS"
Gppd question for thought.

If this is homework, your teacher will like "Remember the Maine!"
which was used to rally support for the Spanish-American War in 1898.
