I have fun with them, ill act like im really interested in the product and ill drag out the conversation for as long as possible with all the bullshit small talk anyone could possibly handle and right before he/she makes the sale ill say "hello, hellllloooooo, hello? HELLO!, I cant here you I really wanted that product" and then after 3 minutes of that ill hang up.
I mean why get mad? Get even! haha :D

This isn't the "worst" thing. When some con artists try some scam over the phone (yes, it happens here) I respond by speaking in a foreign langauge. Even if you only know a few simple words, it will help to make THEM to hang up on you. For example, for the callers from India I might try telling them "Tovaritch, spasebo, nyet, Irkutsk" and a few other Russian words. The trick is just make them sound casual, like you know no other langauge.

Those ones in India are difficult. They actually are quite bright. Most of them have bachelor's degrees, but there is no work. And the language barrier is big, even if they do speak English. But the worst is being condescended by someone you can't understand. And they do that. Sorry...what was the question?

"I told you I wasn't interested" 3 or 4 times. The last time I got loud and hung up.

I once told a telemarketer that I could not talk right now because the goat was getting away with a tube of KY in it's mouth.

I try to get their name and company affiliation so I can report it. The fines are steep since I am on the DO NOT CALL list. If they call from India I am not sure it does anything.

Don't use my land line much anymore so I do this:
"Hello? Yes, I am. Oh, I'm interested but can you hang on for a minute? I'll be riiight back!"
Eventually they'll hang up on themSELVES!

I try not to be too rude because maybe the person is poor and this is the only way he or she can support their kids...also they get told off enough, I would imagine.
