I guess it depends. It has more to do with liberal vs conservative. Sometimes liberal can be too liberal, and conservative can be too conservative. I think that right now, because of the war, and how Prez Bush's approval ratings are low, it's cool to be not him (or anyone who thinks like he does). For instance I saw this cartoon, with Barak Obama standing next to Pres Bush, and the question was "what's the best thing about Obama?" And Obama was wearing a teeshirt saying, I'm not him! with an arrow pointing to Mr Bush.

if it was that his approval ratings were high, like they were for Clinton, it'd be hip to be a Republican.

Wait a 2d. If the tea social gathering human beings purely supply her 60% and Republicans supply her 71%... i'm perplexed. i became brought about believe that the tea social gathering became no longer something yet Republican crazies. Why this type of drop in her approval. the concern is.. the individuals talking approximately Palin the main are the Democrats and Liberals. "Approval" does no longer mean "i want her to be president".

Because now you will have to use your brains, and most republicans have trouble with an independent thought process. They tend to wait until their leaders--President Bush, Karl Rove. Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannritty, Tony Snow, Steve Ailes, etcetc, and the total Murdock organization tells them what to think. [None yet seem capable of acknowledging that Murdock himself held a fund rasier for Mrs. Clinton.Interesting!!]

The country swings like a pendulum.

First it was Dems & Clinton was cool.

Then it swung to the other side, and Bush & Republicans were cool.

Now it is swinging back to Dems and Clinton (again ?).

I think it goes back to the traditional ideas of liberal and conservative...

liberal is more of a "hey, do what makes you happy"

while conservative is more "follow the rules and shut up"

which is more cool to you?

and granted, these aren't hard and fast for everyone... but more general ideas...
