I am also looking for the name of this mythological creature, it is not any of these common names (Chimera, Manticore,).. but very specifically a lions forebody, one set of wings, and the torso/tail of a snake. I have a 17th century hammered brass cloak pin with this image on it and have yet to find a name or connection.

There's the mythological creature called the Chimera. It had the head of a lion, body of a goat, and the tail of a serpent. It didn't have wings, but I suppose that could depend on what you read.

I think you've got a chimera in mind...however, the chimera doesn't have wings. That would be indicative of a griffon and they have the head of an eagle and body of a lion.
