nu-metal seemed to be the genre everybody was waiting to fade away years ago

now it seems emo is taking that place
nu-metal>emo

death to emo!

I don’t have a problem with nu-metal
Some of that I like, but I know people really use to hate it and still do

But I do have a problem with emo
It seems everything I turn on the radio
Is panic at the disco, fall out boy, my chemical romance, red jump suit apparatus, death cab for cutie
It all sounds the same, the whiny teen lyrics, it’s so damn annoying
As Trent Reznor said “I wonder about the person that's in that kind of band, the young kid who just got signed or is trying to get signed — why is he doing it?" "Is he trying to change the world and do something different and express himself, because that is why he wanted to do it? Or is it because they want to **** Paris Hilton and be photographed outside trendy restaurants?"

Here some opinion from an old school guy :

In the world of music nowaday, we find there are so many bands that are really a brand new, they bring some new music to the world, like nu metal, emo etc. Is that music really new ???? NO. Every music have their own growing and dying point, every music !!!! So every music in this world have their own top time, when everybody talking about a kind of music then that's their top time.
So if we have to choose which one is the worse, then i will say there is worse music in this world. The worse is the record label who releases all that bands. But please we have to give a respect to every music. The new bands try to reach what they want with their music and the other side, record label need some cash to make the industry keep rolling.

Emo is the worst this population has brought upon itself.

God, what's their name, Frolic at the Disco (or whatever they are called) make that Paris Hilton Cd sound like pure heaven!!

And its kinda ironic- "death to emo"

haha. arent they obsessed with it? I mean you see these kids cutting themselves and wishing they would die and attempting suicide when they've got the perfect life, except for music that is supposedly "cool", depressing them to no end. I think, that sweet death they are in love with will suit them all just well. Or better yet, we might just throw them in Africa for a couple of days and see if they will hate everything when they come back... hah...

ungrateful little bastards...

As for nu-metal.. that genre is kind of broad in a sense. There's a couple of artists that could be considered nu-metal that arent half bad. But its still not very much suited to my liking. There's more variety at least. It allows for more originality than emo music does. Its not like every song you hear will have the same sounding vocals (as in emo music). Every emo song either has a whiny guy straining to get the sound out of his throat, or equaly whiny guy, screeching his shrieky screeches.

Bleh. Rubbish.

I think whats worse is that all these weird groups just start coming out the wood work all the time. Why can't it just used to be like back in the day when people just were in their own clicks and it was just their friends and they didnt make up names for the group. There is like preps, jocks, emos, goth, etc etc

numetal = worse
emo is already dead, died in the late 80s.
the stuff you hear on the radio isnt emo, its mostly pop-rock or pop-punk
youll never hear any emo on the radio anyways because the majority of people dont want to listen to hardcore punk (which emo-tive hardcore is)

Nu-Metal is the lesser of the two evils. Long live real rock & roll. I'm buying a guitar this weekend so I will do my part, lol.

It is questions like these that raise obvious conclusions. Both are horrible.
