Most of the time the only "instruction" you'll receive is to get really loud when the show comes back from commercial. Other than that, you're free to start a chant, chant with others, or even flash your silly signs as much as you want. I've been to a RAW show before and we were told to scream during commercial returns, but other than that, the crowd reaction is based on the wrestlers, their matches, and any comments they make.

In all honesty, however, I prefer house shows. There seems to be more interaction between the wrestlers and the crowd, and since house shows usually take place at smaller venues, your chances of getting to meet the wrestlers increases.

No, they just rely on the people chanting for the faces. Thats why they have problems when people prefer the heels (like when they cheered HHH,Angle and Y2J over Cena last year)

there are tricks. If it's pretaped they'll edit out cheers for the bad guys. And i was at a WCW show in 99 and Goldberg came out and it turned out that the "goooldbeerg" chant wasnt by the fans, they played it on the speakers hoping ppl would join in

I have been to WCW and WWE/WWF events over 20 times, even some pay per views. There are no signs telling the crowd what to say, but one time I thought I heard canned crowd chants being piped through the speakers that could have queued the crowd. It might have been my imagination.

No, it's an incredible mob mentality, where if some people start a chant, eventually everyone joins in.

nah... just chant what you want to.. Kinda like being at a baseball game. One person screams at the Umpire that "you suck!" or to the Batter, "Heeeeey batter batter batter Swing!!" its just the motions of the crowd.

Depends on what arena you go to. Some of them do some of them don't. At the ones that don't you have to wait till the intro starts to c whose coming.
