why is cm punk such a babyface crowdfavorite, i dont watch to much of ecw but i think hes over rated, and i didnt know who he was until he made his debute in ecw, can someone clear this for me what the hell has CM punk done in his career that he is so populsr, i mean for one his symbol or mark is like the pepsi symbol which dosent make sense to me, and the crap that ecw has created about kelly kelly and cm punk is making me sick

Look him up on Wikipedia. CM Punk is on the same level in the indies as Samoa Joe, although I don't know how much that would mean to you if you've never watched ROH or TNA. Firstly, yes, I agree that WWE has already ruined Punk, but then again, that happens a lot, because God knows WWE can't properly book anyone under 6 ft 5 and 250 pounds (at the very least).
His symbol is the Pepsi symbol. This is because, while many guys get tatoos of their favourite beer brands, Punk is straight-edge, and therefore uses the tatoo and symbol as a sort of parody of "beer worship". If you haven't watched Punk until ECW, you won't have heard of the greatest finisher in proffessional wrestling today, the Pepsi Plunge, which is like a Pedigree off the top rope. He also uses many jujutsu holds and throws, such as the Anaconda Vice, which is one of the greatest submission maneuvers I've seen in a while.
Punk gained fame in IWA:Midsouth and in ROH (Ring of Honour). I didn't watch Punk in IWA, but he is reputed to have many long and classical matches, including TLC matches and a 90 min 2-out-of-three-falls match with Chris Hero. In ROH, he was most famous for his fued with Samoa Joe, including a match Dave Meltzer gave five stars, making him the only person currently in the WWE aside from Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker to compete in such a match (there have only ever been four WWE matches given this award). He also won the ROH title a little before he was supposed to leave for WWE and only lost it about a month prior to leaving, threatenig all the way to take the belt with him (he was one of ROH's all-time greatest heels).
He then went to OVW, a developmental territory owned by the WWE, engaged in a nice, long fued with Brent Albright, became its biggest star and became, alongside with Albright, OVW's only Triple Crown Champion.
As you can see, CM Punk is easily among the WWE's most talented stars. Let's just hope that WWE use him properly and not just bury him and his reputation, like they probably will do.

He was as big as a legend as there was in the Ring of Honor and other independent companies for years. Most "real" wrestling fans know this and were excited for him to debut and embraced him joining the company.
He hasnt done his best stuff, because there isnt that much talent on wwe. Really on ECW, only two members can actually wrestle and that is Punk and RVD.
Most of the fans that dont like/understand him are just the wwe puppets that like the random giant faces that Vince tell them are cool despite the fact they are horrible in the ring.
As far as fan favorite stars, he's one of the most talented in the company.

He is so good because he actually has talent and has a good gimic, CM Punk has more talent in one finger than John Cena and Batista have put together. When I say talent I don't mean walking around the ring and doing the same 4 moves over and over again, I mean like actually doing some real wrestling moves. Vince is pushing these untalented retards to much!

well actually cm punk is such a babyface crowd favorite because he is really entertaining and he actually treats the fans like equals he doesnt believe he is above everyone else. like rvd who charges 20 dollars for an autograph. before wwe forbid mr. punk to have and run his own myspace page he answered peoples messages i know because he answered a few of mine. so all in all he deserves all the good he gets because he is generally a good person.

watch his sequence against samoa joe in roh, then watch the two months whilst he grow to be roh international champion inclusive of his mic artwork. then come returned right here and submit a thread: who would not think of cm punk is excellent?

Thank you god someone else agrees with me. Let's face it, the best thing about him is the fact that he has a lot of tats. But really, his in ring skills are ok at best, his finisher is lame, his mic skills are middle of the road, and his gimick is REAAAAAALLY cheesey. Straight edge, no drugs, no alcohol, ect. Why doesn't he just tell everyone out there to take their vitamins and say their prayers? Oh yea I know why... IT'S BEEN DONE BEFORE! I understand this guy was big in ROH and OVW, I just don't really know why. I was so glad that his undefeated streak came to an end by a real wrestler that I have so much respect for in Bob Holly.

he lives a straight edge lifestyle meaning he doesn't drink, smoke or do drugs. he also has an impressive background in the martial arts. a very disciplined wrestler.

Maybe the reason for everyone liking him is due to the fact he really does know how to wrestle ( there a shocker ) and he knows how to respect his fans!!!!!!!
