I read that during the first month you should use Dreft for the baby's clothes, blankets, and washcloths. Then after that you can use any detergent that doesn't have added dyes & fragrances. Good Luck!

I use to work in a distribution center and after seeing things that I have seen..I have always washed my children's clothes and also my own. So many people have touched that product from the factorys to the stores.
Buy Dreft or Ivory soap and you'll be fine when my baby turned 5 months I just bought Tide and washed all my family's clothes in.
I hope this works for you!

Yes you should. Wash them in dreft or some other baby detergent to wash out the stuff the manufacturer puts on them and gems from people walking through the baby section that might be sick and cough on the clothes. Better to be safe than sorry and that way you know they are clean.

I washed all of my baby's things before she was born. I used Dreft. When she turned about three months, I stopped washing them first and no problems. Just keep an eye out for irritation. Good luck with the new little one!!

I always did. I bought special baby detergent ( Dreft) for my firstborn, but for my younger two i just use regular detergent and make sure to use the second rinse cycle ( some washers come with this feature. Another great product is the All Free and Clear it's not as expensive as that Dreft stuff.

Baby's skin can be very sensitive to a variety of things. That is one thing I never did though was wash their clothing before they wore it when it was new. Nesting is also normal before a baby comes. Calm down, get ya some nice hot decaf tea with some honey and lemon. Try to relax, it will be fine. :)

i washed everyting (clothes, towels, washcloths, birpcloths, etc.) in dreft before using and i will continue to do so until a year or so. the chemicals and things on the fabrics can cause an allergic reaction of your baby's sensitive skin....good luck! congrats!

I would just in case she has an allergic reaction to the dye in them...she may be sensitive....it will also make them a little bit softer as well. Good luck and congradulations.

Yeah, I would....I always wash my clothes before I wear them....I would use fabric softener too, so that way they're soft for your babies skin....congrats by the way!
