They suck huh!! I have been having them since i was 23 weeks. The first night i had them i was home alone and was sooo nervous & was in tears like OH MY GOD I cant have my baby. Luckily false alarm. I have learned that trying to breathing techniques i have learned in my classes through these braxton hicks works a lot. It helps you see what your going to go through. Use them as practice. My doctor also told me that by me having them so early and so much, it will be easier on me in the long run!! Lets hope hes right!

No Braxton Hicks doesn't mean labor is coming soon at all. This is basically practice contractions for the uterus. Nothing more and nothing less. Congrats on the baby though.

I sure hope not b/c I'm 22 weeks and having Braxton Hicks! But no, it doesn't mean labor will start soon; it is just your uterus "practicing" for the big day. You still have like 6 weeks left!

These contractions are just practice, as another person already said. They are caused by fluctuating levels of oxytocin, a hormone your body will produce LOTS of when it is ready to do the real thing. You shouldn't be concerned about contractions until they are less than 10 minutes apart regularly for at least 2 hours. Or if they get to be less than 8 minutes apart for an hour. Otherwise the docs will just make you go home. Been there, done that. Nothing is more defeating than going to the hospital thinking you are about to have your baby only to have some nurse tell you to go home and take a walk! I did it 4 times with my first!

Im 33 weeks along and I have been having alot of braxton hicks lately, and they've been getting stronger. But everyone keeps telling me that they arent real labor signs. So I'm assuming that they arent! Take care and good luck!

Sorry but no. I know the excitement is killing you but you can have BH for a while b4 you deliver or you could have no contractions at all. I didn't have any when I went into labor and my first delivery was a whole 23 minutes start to finish!

May or may not. Your body is getting ready. And don't believe what the dr says about weight-sometimes they are right on/sometimes way off. My first child they said was 11 lbs he ended up only being 8lb 6 oz. But the same ultra sound tech was within ounces of predicting my best friends baby's weight.

No not really, I have been having them since I was 5 months. Your body is getting ready though. Time them. If they are less than 5 mins apart call your dr.
