I was wondering what I should get my girlfriend for valentines day. We're both freshmen in college, and everything is going really well, and we both love each other deeply, but I'm not sure what I should get her.

I wasn't sure since it was our first valentines day if I should get her something like flowers and chocolate, or lingerie, or bath & body stuff. At first I was planning on getting her a diamond heart pendant, or something like that, but I wasn't sure if that would be setting the bar too high for the future, and I should wait to give expensive jewelry.

So if people could give me some idea of what sounds appropriate or give me links to some good gift ideas that would be wonderful. Money isn't too important, but probably under $200 total, unless it's really nice.

Thanks so much!

Something with more thought than $. I agree that girls love home made stuff or just thoughtful acts. Plan a special day. Anyone can spend money on one of the standard V-day gifts that anyone could expect.
It means more if you take some time to do or make something that you know she'd like.
If you must do one of the traditional things, I'd go with flowers.
Gift cards are impersonal, and don't take much thought.

Okay, Last Valentine's Day was my first Valentine's Day with my boyfriend too. He got me a heart diamond necklace as my gift and I wear it everyday. It depends on how much you care about her I guess, jewlery's nice, lasts forever. Roses are beautiful but wither away, Chocolate's are sweet but don't last as long either (esp. if she loves Choclate). It all depends- what can you see her in or with? To be honest- I'm hoping for at least a ring of some sort this year, not an engagement but something that shows I'm his and it's our second Valentine's day. Depends on how she feels too. Good Luck~!

Good call on jewelry. Personally, I feel it's too early for something so pricey. My boyfriend and I were dating for 2 months for Valentine's last year and he got me a beautiful sterling silver ring. I'd reccomend something like that. It's inexpensive but it still has that "jewelry" effect. Might I suggest making her a card? Girls are suckers for homemade things. A poem, perhaps? A box of nice chocolates is always fun, or buy a glass jar and fill it with Hershey's Kisses or her other favorite candy. Good luck!

How about a pearl necklace? Or better yet a Hot Carl or a Dirty Sanchez she might really get into. If it's that time of the month a Rusty trambone might do the trick.

Good luck, hope u get some
