I got a black Zune and I love it! Even a bit more than my old black ipod. There are some great things about it that ipod lovers don't know. Here are some things it has over the ipod:
1.bigger screen
2.scratch-resistant, durable
3.feels nice in the palm of your hand, really
4.has a nice UI design (way better than ipod)
5.has wi-fi feature so you can send songs & pics to other Zunes
6.has built-in FM tuner
7.you can change the background pic for the whole menu system
8.Zune software has a subscription feature so you can download a lot for 1 price
9.can sync with the Xbox 360
10.you can view videos and some pics in landscape mode (on it’s side) so you just turn it on it’s left side (makes it great for watching videos)
11.you can get 14 day free-trial for Zune Marketplace
12.is something new and has latest technology
Try it at Best Buy and see if it's good enough. It's a great video player and is fun to watch on. Try it.

That's a tough one. Just because the Ipod has been out longer, it doesn't make it better.
Both have their good things and bad things about them. For example, the Zune can transmit the music on three different FM frequencies so that you can listen to the music in your car stereo or other near by stereo. The Ipod doesn't have a build in transmitter. You have to buy a separate device to do the same. Also, the Zune's screen is slightly bigger than the Ipod's.
I don't know all the functions of the Zune to make a fair comparison, though. I think that they are pretty much the same. Right now I own a 60GB Ipod, but once it comes time to replace it, I'll have to compare them both as well as other players better.

Zune is better because it's made by Microsoft, which totally owns Mac.
Though, if you want to get your money's worth, get the iPod; it's cooler too (except for the brown Zune).
I have an iPod, but I would have gotten the Zune if I had known about it at the time.

Ipod. It is easier to use. It's click wheel actually does something. Zune looks like it has a click wheel, but it's just there to make it look a little bit like an iPod as far as I can tell, it's actually just four navigation buttons. The iPod has a much better selection of models to choose from. The iTunes store has an incredible selection of music and videos. The Zune store looks like a store after a week-long going out of business sale. The pickings are slim. The Zune automatically locks down all your music with DRM, even if you are a musician loading your own music onto the Zune, it gets DRM'ed so you can't share it. Which is really weird because the one thing Microsoft touts more than any other on the Zune is it's ability to share music wirelessly with other Zune users. Actually, you can share it for 3 days or 3 plays and then it's gone. Even if you own the actual rights to the music!

am still deciding on one! i dont know witch one to get. i have windows media center, so the zune is more convenient for my system, but i really like the ipod and it s fetures

definetly the apple ipod because it has been out longer and it has more selections of which ipod to choose while the zune has just come out and there is only one model, it doesn't have much credibility.

iPod - definitely. the same ideological difference between a Mac and a Windows based machine. Ease of use. Convenience. User-focused.

zune is only cool if everyone has one...so you can share music.
but unfortunately everyone owns an ipod...so im going with ipod
