Because of that movie, anytime I see a clown I freak out and run the other way. Regardless of where I am at or what I am doing

I would go for the oldies.(probably because I am old)
How about
The Howling...classic werewolf scare!
Demons (Dario Argento) part 2 was OK.
Night of the Demons (another 80's movie) ...saw it when I was 14 & it still gives me nightmares to this day.
And I just saw a move earlier this year called The Convent (according to wiki it was released in 2000) Though its comedic horror, its action packed and a must see.

Anything with zombies in it, because if there is one thing I know about horror movies, we're scared of two things. (1) Viruses, (2) Predators. And what's not to be afraid of when you're being killed by your zombie relative, neighbor or friend? It's all fun and games until someone gets an arm bit off!

I don't have a favourite, but here are a few:
The Descent: It was disturbing and gross
Wolf Creek: Disturbing and horrific but in a good style that seemed natural and therefore more effective
Evil Dead: It is the one of the scariest but the graffics are now outdated
Nightmare of Elm Street: Classic horror

The original Invasion of the Body Snatchers, which came out in the 50's. The ending had to be changed before it was released because preview audiences were aghast by it.

After I see a movie once it rarely scares me again.
But the one I had the most fun watching, and the one that freaked me out the most.... Its a tie between The Grudge 2 and Silent Hill.
Gore/Torture movies just don't do it for me... they disgust me more than they scare me.
