Al Davis is the coach. Kiffen'll just be his whipping boy.

I don't really know how it's going to work out, people are saying he's 31 and he's too young and all. But like you said, it reminds you how Gruden was hired outta the limb like that. Tell you what, he has some pretty good football genes, I mean how good has that TB defense been with Monte Kiffen the last 10 yrs
But here's the thing, he (Lane) could only do too much, not wanting to break ur heart, but I gotta say this is a bad football team right now. Say u guys draft Russell, ok good pick, goes nice with Randy Moss. But what about the others, the offensive line has an offensive smell (I mean stinks that's what I mean), guys on offense won't make plays, and you can't get guys to play with heart. There's gonna be some improvement I think, u guys will probably get 5 wins, but that's about it.

Kriffen has a tough road ahead. A rookie coach gettin handed what is possibly the worst sports franchise in existence presently. As Kriffin has never been a head coach in the NFL, he's going to have to figure out a way to get the respect of his players first, and then figure out a way to win in the NFL.
If Mr Davis decides it's time to get back to the commitment to excellence, spend some money and get some top flight players, maybe the Raiders can once again be a force to be reckoned with within 2 - 3 years.

I like Lane Kiffen but he just signed a death warrant. As bad as the raiders are and how young he is..the older guys are not going to listen to him no matter what. The nfl is a joke when it comes to the team concept, to many egos and to big contracts keep these over paid babies from actually playing for the love of the game not the dollars. So good luck Coach have fun with that job see ya in two years somewhere else

He's just another puppet for the all controlling Al Davis. Al Davis is ridiculous! He is the owner, GM, and you might as well say coach.
This guy will do whatever Al tells him to do and when things go wrong he will fire him for it.

I think it will take a couple of years, and probably more control than Al Davis will surrender, but Lane Kiffen is capable of getting it done.

He wont last
After about two years, he'll get so tired of Davis' meddling, he'll bail back to the college ranks.
Davis does not know how to deal with the new ghetto athelte. They want bling but not have to work for it.

He's a young coach and should bring new ideas and concepts to this team. I would not be surprised if Moss and Brooks are gone.
