If you have a TI-83 calculator, go to MODE and there should be an option: RADIAN or DEGREE, press RADIAN.

arcsin is same thing as sin-1, press 2nd, sin <<< DO THIS STEP FIRST

And the root sign is (at least for my calculator, TI-84plus) is 2nd, x^2

There should be a seperate negative key. My calculator is below the 3

Most calculators have a [2nd] key. If you hit [2nd] [sin] on most calculators, "sin-1" should show up. That's the arcsine. As for setting your computer to radian or degree mode, you'll have to find out yourself for your particular calculator.

Although if I'm not mistaken, the first one is pi/4...

mode= rad= shift= sin-1=root 2/2

mode= deg= shift= sin-1=root 2/2

If it's not a scientific calculator, you can't.

Otherwise, follow the directions in your instruction booklet.
