peacock eels eat at night, i got one about a month or so ago. i thought he never ate too. they deffinately only like to eat at night. the blood worms should be good. but get some small live worms to put in there, that is why they dig into the gravel. natural behavior. but mines kinda weird. he loves swimming around during the day hanging out with the other fish. and my guppy just gave birth and all he wants to do is eat the fry. try just giving him live worms right before lights out

The Peacock Eels are carnivores. Like all spiny eels they prefer a diet of live and fresh frozen foods such as brine shrimp, black worms, earthworms or bloodworms. Some spiny eels can be trained to eat freeze dried brine shrimp or bloodworms but this is not something that can be counted on. I answered this already in your previous question. This time I cut and pasted straight from the site.

Peacock eels eat shrimp, worms and small fish. Try brine shrimp, blood worms, feeder guppies. You can actually train them to eat from ur hands. They only get to be between 6-10' in length so no worries about him getting ur fingers. Place the worms between 2 fingers and allow him to come up to top. If he doesn't show him what u have. Go to him with the food. He will come after a few attempts. This way after a while u will learn he is eating. This is how i feed my fish which helps them become social and not afraid after being taunted in stores. If after a few days you can't get him to eat or see him eat at night or day get yourself some feeder guppies in the tank with him. You may notice the numbers going down in their school. He is eating. No worries eels eat small fish.

The frozen bloodworms should be fine, try feeding the tank and then turning off the lights so your other fish don't snatch up everything before your eel does.

Peacock ells really need a sand substrate, as anything sharp can tear their delicate skin. They love to burrow in it, with only their head protruding.

Look into blackworms. You can add them directly into the aquarium, if you have sand, and they will bury themselves into the substrate, and your PE can find them when they hang out of the sand. They are very small, so it's easier for them to eat. I have been having to cut up tiny earthworms to fit the size of my PE's mouth.

You can also set up a small tank and grow your own blackworms. Check youtube for videos on how to do this.

Whatever you feed him, they really do prefer live to frozen. If you do feeder guppies, make sure to quarantine them, so you don't pass on any diseases to your PE.

Good luck! I love my PE so much, I ordered a second one yesterday.
