He did a good job. It is a shame however, that every President from both sides of the isle give the same empty speech year in and year out. 7 years ago President Bush claimed to have this special group of people looking into the current tax system. Back then he claimed it was a mess and was going to get it fixed. Here it is 7 years later and all he wants to do is to add another twist in the already screwed up system. So much for fixing the problem

Do any of you make any statements not based upon some artificial label? I'm a Democrat & have been for over 30 years longer than some of you have been whining.

I think the presentation was very good.but that's not possible , I'm a Dem. I also thought the Dem response was well presented.

Wow is that allowed? Can I actual have positive impressions of both?

How can you judge effectiveness in an hour? Effectiveness on making people who hate & disrespect him because he personally planned the 9/11 attack? Probably minimal

When his lips moves, you know he is lying.

All of a sudden he says "we all have to work together" but when his party was in power it was "My way or the highway"

In 6 years with his party in power he ran the biggest deficits in the history of the world. But now he wants the democrats to balance the budget.

All of a sudden he is concerned about energy conservation and the big threat of global climate change??? He's been denying that either is a problem for 6 years!

and on and on...

I'm with MC. The same old stuff. The health care thing might
have gone right over my head. What did he say - the people
with health insurance will get a tax break? What about the
people who can't afford it at all?
