When I was your age, the "... for Dummies" books were pretty new, and they did me lots of good.

They probably have Java for Dummies, C++ for Dummies, Visual Basic for Dummies, etc... probably a good way to learn the basics.

Then you can move on to more advanced books, reference books and textbooks work very well.

Or you can just do a search for some online tutorials.

I would go on Ebay and find a cheap book or something, or Google to find some things to help you. If you wanting to make games then go with C/C++, Visual Basics is more for programs to help accomplish stuff, although it is not limited to making games. I'm in high school and I'm learning VB.NET, I just placed in the top 10 in the BPA city competition and I get to go to the state level to compete. Should be fun.

Microsoft offers Visual Basic and Visual C++ express editions which have some documentation on how to program. You can go to Microsoft's website and search for Visual Basic Express Edition which will take you to the download page. Choose to install all the extras.

i'm going to upload one to the combination - groovy. the foremost element in programming is to verify the ideas. maximum languages are outfitted around the comparable ideas with purely a diverse syntax for expressing the comparable thought. some language have greater/diverse helpful aspects than others e.g. python has closures the place as java would not, yet in java you are able to enforce the comparable function with yet another thought called nameless instructions. as quickly as you already know closures you are able to prepare it to any language that helps closures e.g groovy. it extremely is probably terrific to start up with Java because of the fact it aspects the advantages of C++ with out the somewhat some pitfalls that new human beings run into. Now till now the C++ experts leap on my case, the somewhat some problems novices revolves around regulations and memory administration. as quickly as you already know slightly Java you ought to use C++ to comprehend those ideas because of the fact it powerful to appreciate what happens in the back of the curtain. (i like c++ - it helps you to do something you like and would not inform you you will possibly desire to do some thing a definite way because of the fact human beings in an ivory tower say so) Python and groovy construct on the ideas you study in Java and C++ and provides some new ones. interior the top it extremely is greater significant understanding the thank you to apply the language than syntax - that's what google or a sturdy reference instruction manual is for. as quickly as you already know the ideas you will have the skill to %. up maximum languages in a hurry.
