Hmmmm..... not so much.

Sometimes, it creates an expectation or a pressure that I'm not always sure I can live up to. If people expect one thing, it almost removes all of my creativity. I don't like to do the same thing every time. Therefore, if people are expecting me to...... and I don't...... will it disappoint them?

This is the problem I have with my writing. I write our school plays. For a few years in a row, I did something very similar to each other. The next year..... people kept coming up saying, "We can't wait to see..... blah blah blah." Well...... it just so happened that I was "mixing it up a bit" and wasn't doing blah blah blah. I was going for yada yada yada. People almost looked at me with a disappointed look. Even if I tried to explain it..... they had a preconceived notion that they wouldn't like it as much. It really made me have a brain freeze after that..... I lost my creativity because I felt compelled to give them what they expected rather than going with my gut and KNOWING that what I had in mind was really really good. *sigh*

So I guess I have to kinda sorta maybe say....... no. Knowing what is expected of me is not always a comfort. *sigh*

I suppose so.

I like knowing what's expected of me academically so I can meet them and go far beyond.

In my relationships, I like knowing what's expected of me because it makes it easy to make the other person happy. As long as I know what they want from me, I'm comfortable because I can assess whether or not I'm capable of making them happy.

I suppose it's always comfortable to know what's expected because you don't have to play any guessing games.

for me yes.
There are those out there that are go getters....no matter the job...if for example you work in a restaurant, there are those folks that take the inititive and do stuff without being asked. Then there are those folks that are like puppies...they wait to be told what to do and when to do it and they are very happy being that person.
I think it is a good thing to have both types....
