1) I am not sure what you mean by not yet qualified, South Africa has participated in two previous World Cups - France and Korea/Japan, admittedly without great success.

2) As far as qualification is concerned, host countries automatically qualify and therefore this is a non-issue

3) Even if South Africa were not involved (as indicated above this is obviously not possible) I believe that the South Africa would nevertheless still passionately support the event as many of the supporters are keen supporters of international soccer from Man United through to Barcelona to the Cameroun

They already qualify because the host country automatically makes it to the World Cup that they host. They're even gonna play in the first game.

We qualify automatically because we're the Host country!!!!
The question should be, what happens if we don't advance past the FIRST round instead !?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haven't been home in the past 10 months, so my statement/question is entirely based on when I was there ... the state of how SAFA was being managed then, was just ... well, CRAP! Dunno how much it's changed and how the ex-Brazilian coach is coping out there ... will definitely go home to get a bit updated before 2010!Our players are just awesome, don't get me wrong ...
*Sibusiso Zuma
*Bradley Carnell
*Benni McCarthy
*Aaron Mokoena
*Cyril Nzama
*Benedict Vilakazi
*Steven Pienaar
*Surprise Moriri --> he's not in the national squad ... YET!But when I was home ... he was in the newspaper almost EVERYDAY for scoring left, right and centre! Can't remember which team he plays for, but I think it's Kaizer Chiefs!??!!!

The management is just sh** that's all!!!

But hopefully that'll all be cleared up by 2010 ....
COME ON YOU SAFFAS ... Let's show 'em how it's done =]

Are you serious? Do you like soccer? In all the World Cups the team that is the organizer automatically qualifies.

What the hell?

The host team automatically qualifies

EDIT: What happens if FIFA decides to move the venue because the progress in SA has seemed to develop a bit slow.

Well SA still automatically qualify?

if SOUTH AFRICA don't get the host nation job, then they will have to play in the qualifiers to qualify for the finals, just like other teams. it will be a major blow should FIFA reject their status as the host nation.
