Neither is a definite bet. The doctor usually decides by using the date of your LMP, the sono uses size of baby. Both can and usually are wrong...15% of babys are born on their due date. That gives you a huge chance of delivering on a different day!

I had my first ultrasound at 8 weeks for dating the age of the baby. They say that the earlier you go the more accurate it is. So there is more room for error at a 20 week ultrasound than at a 8 week. Mine put the baby at 3 days older than what we thought, so we are just keeping our date, it is still possible that it would be off by 5 days give or take. But you doc should have the results and would be able to make an accurate judgment on your due date.

During some of the sono, the tech will measure things like head, arms and legs. This will give the doctor an indication on the baby's weight and how far along you are. It's only an estimated date, the baby might come early or late.

Sonograms are more accurate; what the doctor tells you is simply based off of the first day of your last period. Still, the due date given is ESTIMATED; not perfect. Very few women actually give birth on their due date.

the baby is going to come only when it is ready there is no accurate way to tell but the best on my guess would be a sonogram cause it determines it by the size and weight of the baby.

toddlers come whilst they're waiting. It not often happens precisely on the day predicted. it extremely is purely a great wager, purely the infant is conscious... :) If that's a usual being pregnant i think of she is greater possibly to be previous due than early. you merely do no longer understand! My anniversary is Aug 19 so as which would be a sturdy day to have the infant.... ha ha. sturdy luck on your chum!

I'm having a transvaginal next week and the doc told me that if they tell me something different than what she said, that we will go by the new number.
