Can't it be both?

So I walk the path and come to a decision. How do I decide? I have to look back at what I've learned from previous experiences in my life. What happened when I made THIS choice vs. another? How did it work out? How could I have done things differently? Would another choice for myself been better?

So why do I ask myself to think about these things? Oh... gosh, it's definitely because I'm intrigued by the new fork in the road..... the next decision. But because I'm so enticed.... I can't be blinded. I have to look at it logically so that I'm not fooled by the shiny package before me. I look to the past.... to see what makes most sense for the future.

I refuse to look back.
Tonight has been weird in that I have learned that there is no point in looking back.
I have learned my lessons and those are the only things I'm keeping with me. Those and the memories.
But that's it.
I'm through with living through the rearview.
It's time to move on, embrace any and every obstacle that may come my way for they are reminders that I am real, that I do have the strength to go on and that regardless of how intimidating the fork in the road looks, I will find my way.

Your question make me really think...

I'd say a fork in the road truly entices me, and drives me forward, but I will always be the one to look back, not necessarily with dread, but to learn from my past.
