A Rod, though he had a bit of a bad break last season, he's still the best all around player and pure hitter in the league

I will have to agree with you. Jeter and A-Rod are proven superstars and were considered as some of the greatest shortstops to ever play the game. Robinson Cano is going to be a great Yankee as well. I watched him play the first few years and I know he is going to be a Yankee star of the future. He was in the race for the batting title along with Jeter as well. A-Rod may have had a bad year but I think he will do better this year. Otherwise, people will say that A-Rod is the next Dave Winfield. I remember that since his return from his hamstring injury, he was among the league leaders in average, doubles and RBI's. There was even a stretch where he had more RBI's than Ryan Howard. Jeter is a proven champion being on four World Championship Yankee teams. He is one of the best shortstops to play the game. He was robbed of the MVP this year. He lost the batting title and the MVP to players from the Twins. Cano was also robbed of the Rookie of the year Award in 2005. So, I think highly of them just like the rest of the Yankees and I will be going for the Yankees to win their 27th World Championship.

They are very talented indeed, but I wouldn't go as far as to say that they are the best, except for Jeter. Jeter is very good defensively both being able to throw the ball and catch it. Offensively, it's the same story. He was a great lead-off hitter before Damon donned the Stripes, and he was great in the 2 spot. He can hit for average and for power, especially in the clutch. Aside from David Ortiz and Albert Pujols, he is probably the best. Alex Rodriguez on the other hand, struggles defensively, although that is because he is a shortstop by trade. Offensively, he is great, except he has down poorly in the clutch for New York. He is not in his element in New York, probably because he is not comfortable with his 3B job, but for other reasons too. Cano is a player on the rise. He is turning out to be a good fielder, and a good slugger. In this next season, expect a breakout year. Overall, I think that New York has one of the best infields.

If the Yankees got a real first baseman I think they would have the best infield in decades, perhaps ever. Jeter, Cano and A-Rod are all solid defensive players who can hit extremely well. They steal bases, play hard and hit for average. Cano rarely walks but he also rarely strikes out. A-Rod has 1b like power and is one of the best hitters in the game, not just right now but perhaps ever.

Wish Mattingly had come up at the same time as Jeter. Can you picture what that squad would be like with Mattingly at first?

Maybe but dont count out the Marlins
3B: Cabrera
2B: Uggla (was one of the favorites to win the NL rookie of the year award)
SS: Ramirez (won the NL rookie of the year award)

Fielding-wise i'd say that they're about equal. At 3B I personally think that Cabrera is a better hitter than A-Rod. At 2B I would pick Cano as a hitter over Uggla. At SS Jeter is a better hitter though Ramirez is a nightmare when he gets on base (not to mention he's a very underrated fielder). Right now i would say that the Yankees have a better infield but three years down the road the marlins infield will probably be better than the Yankee's infield is now.

Yes.. they are all very good and talented players, I would say that they are one of the best. Although there are lots of great players out there.. I think that Arod, Jeter, and Cano are one of the few that you can call AWESOME!

Although Arod didn't do as people expected last season.. he is STILL a future hall of famer and is still GREAT! Any player with his numbers would be. He might not be a good clutch hitter, but he is a GREAT baseball player.

Jeter.. well he is just pure talent. Excellent athlete, whom you will never hear him trash talking about another player, and he is also a great baseball player. Very consistent and almost always comes through when his team needs him to. He is not afraid to swing in a 3-2 count and he is very patient.

Cano is also a great baseball player. Since he started he showed his talent. With hits after hits and after hits.. it just wouldn't surprise me if he's the next Jeter!

GO YANKS!!!!

I am a redsox fan and have great respect for these guys. I always say A-Rod is the best shortstop playing at third base. I think he do better if the Yankee fans would stop Booing him, Remember he's on your team Cheer for the boy!

LOL these guys haven't done ANYTHING to even be considered for the Hall of Fame, Wow what a bunch of yankee lovers. .that would be like me saying that Ben Sheets for the Brewers is HOF material. Nope. Jeter MAYBE. A-Rod No WAY not proven enough yet. and Cano who? exactly. Go play in traffic if you think otherwise.

i believe they are the best all around infield that any fan would want on their teams. im a diehard DODGER fan who likes the yankees for giving their fans the best possible team every year. many fans talk about overated players getting big contracts, however, the tremendous amount of money that team owners make is never disclosed. owners would not own teams or be giving big contracts if they wouldnt be getting a bigger return in exchange. My dodgers have had record stadium attendance for some years now and havent had a championship year YET. i would love for them to thank fans with big name players like the yankees.

No, I think Jeter is the best player, not necessarily the best shortstop. I do not believe A-Rod is the best 3rd baseman, in fact I'm from NY and I think David Wright is the best 3rd Baseman in NY. Cano is a good 2nd baseman, is the best in baseball, not yet.

BTW, I am a diehard Yankee fan and I dislike the Mets.
