Senate: 2 senators for every state regardless of the population.
House: 1 representative for every 500k people in the state, and they are divided into districts. States with more people have more representatives in the house. the way districts are defined is a controversial political tool in itself.

Good answer from HL Master, I would only add the number of reps each state is alloted may shift as population may shift based upon the census done every years.
