You should compare the prices between Sears, who was one of the first retailers to carry Dyson product; and Target which has just begun carrying the product within the past six months or so.
Dyson is a phenomenal product, I purchased the Animal vacuum nearly six years ago now, and I have never had to have it serviced at all...no problems and no clogging. I have four cats and one dog as well as having many family members and friends who visit with their animals so you can imagine the use this machine gets.
I had gone through three other vacuums in the previous seven years, and a couple of those were nearly three hundred dollars each and I was spending more than the purchase price getting them in and out of the repair shop.
I purchased the new Root 6 handheld rechargable a few months ago, and that is fantastic also, recharges quickly and handles a lot more cleaning than any similar Dustbuster type products I have ever owned.
Dyson does govern their prices, so you are not going to find huge markdowns. If you go on their website www.dyson.com you can look at all the specs and prices. I was able to purchase the Animal at Sears for about $50.00 less than the suggested price, and that was a great deal. I don't believe they have to mark anything down, as their product is is great demand. You may want to watch the site for when new product is coming out, as sometimes older styles will be marked down then. It almost makes cleaning fun, definitely less aggravating. Have a good night and good luck with your Dyson.
