It definitely isn't helping it breathe. I think it's too young to coat your face with a thick, fake foundation. Some concealer and powder is good enough, since our skin is still young and resilient.

I have been in Mary Kay for over six years so here is the scoop on foundation. Consider it to be part of your skin care as it is the "protection" stage. It is a thin layer that protects your face from the outside elements. It also give you a "finished" look. I am one of the lucky ones and have never had problems with acne, have good skin and don't NEED to wear foundation. But after seeing results I wouldn't go a day with out it. Try Mary Kay's medium coverage liquid foundation for a very sheer look and it's so light that you can't even tell you have it on.
But like another responder said, you need to wash it off at night. But that goes for everyone, whether you wear foundation or not. You need to wash your face EVERY night because it attracts dirt etc. throughout the day. And studies have shown that your skin will age 7 times faster if you choose to skip the night time routine.

If you are lucky and have no problems with your skin, you don't have to wear it every day. But if you have dark circles under your eyes, put some concealer and you can also put some transparent powder. I've seen here many answers that wearing foundation is bad for the skin. Well, that's not true, don't worry.

Whenever I go out I wear it but not at home. It depends on the foundation in regard to whether or not its bad for your skin. Make sure it is non comedogenic and always wash your face before you goto sleep and it shouldn't take a toll on your skin too bad.

No. i just wear it when im out...when i get home from school, i take it off right away, and i'm usually so busy that I don't have time to fo out and i don't need to worry about wearing makeup but if I do need to go out- the ONLY thing i dab on is a tinted moisturizer and that's it...and yes it is bad to wear foundation every day- your poor face needs to res once in a while.

I don't wear foundation every day because as most people said, it clogs your pores. When i do wear foundation have found the best one is CoverGirl True Blend Whipped foundation. It doesn't dry your skin out or anything. It's really great.

I don't wear foundation every day. But when I do I wear Covergirl foundation. It is the one that has water in it instead of oil. Makes your face feel like your not even wearing makeup.

Foundation is bad if it isn't hypo-allergenic. Foundations (even expensive ones such as MAC) can make you break out and clog your pores terribly. When you buy foundation, make sure the brand is hypo-allergenic. My skin has actually gotten better since switching over to hypo-allergenic. My suggestion is if you're looking for cheaper brands, go for ALMAY because their skin products are hypo-allergenic (meaning they will NOT clog your pores). For department store brands (more expensive), I say go for PERSCRIPTIVES because that is also hypo-allergenic.
Also, no matter what kind of foundation it is, you better wash it off before you go to bed. I wear foundation everyday and since I use the right kind, my skin is fine.

I wear mineral makeup. I find it let's my skin breathe and isn't harmful at the same time. I wear Everyday Mineral makeup and it has natural sunblock in it as well. It doesn't have any extra additives that might hurt your skin. Actually, I find I break out less by wearing it, they're ingredients are 100% natural.
