First, id think about what to get him.
Eventually, something appropriate will come to mind.
Later you might think of something different that may be better.
Long walk in the park on a starry night?
A box of chocolates always works.
Then again, he might be alergic to chocolate.
I don't know.
Obviously you know him better than I do.

Rent a good movie, buy some popcorn and snacks, get a few soft drinks and spend the evening watching the movie with a couple of friends. Then you can play cards or other games afterwards and enjoy talking. This is a real inexpensive fun time that can be spent together. Have a great evening.

Be funny. Get him something... really weird and crazy.
Or be romantic and make food, then watch a movie.
Well, a physical gift... maybe a book, a cd, jeans, boxers, a small chocolate with a red ribbon wouldn't be bad.

Make him a special homemade meal. Serve it by candle light and play soft music. Make him feel like a king for a day.

it's enough for a brand new video game. More than enough for a couple of used ones (if you get it in EB).
