I have not been able to figure out how men pick out a certain team in any of the professional sports as their favorite team.Is it the color of the uniforms, the state where they themselfs live, the school they went to,or what? What difference can it make in their lives if teamA wins or if teamB wins? Are their lives so small and miserable that they have to feel that they belong to something,i.e. we won ! They are not on the team.they didn't win anything. They probably paid big bucks to watch millioneirs play with a ball.It absolutely escapes any logic that I can think of.And yes,I did not play sports growing up.I enjoyd much more reading, walking in the woods and fields communing with nature and thinking about the wonder of it all and wound up in Biology and Botany for a lifes work.As you can see I am completely baffeled by sports nuts and it absolutely makes no sense to me.As to my example of teamA and teamB,how did it affect my life? Can someone explain this quandry to me?

I'm with you man. I just don't have the time or interest to be watching sports and yelling at the TV like my life depended on it.

I got turned off from it back in high school. When I was in gym class I found myself appalled by how serious the jocks would take it. Not everyone sees it the same way of course. We'd be playing a game and since I didn't take it very seriously I usually wouldn't put my full effort into it. Next thing you know there'd be a jock screaming at me, with a red face and spitting like a neanderthal pig, "WHY DIDN'T YOU CATCH THE BALL!??! OH MY FRIGGIN' GOD!!!!". I found myself to literally be shocked by this and wonder how on earth it could possibly matter so much to them. Wasn't it just a game? Wasn't it supposed to be fun (not serious)? Not to mention this was high school gym class not a pro team event. So I knew right then and there that I had nothing in common with these morons. Then I come to also notice that these are typically the very same people that would rather watch the movie than read the book. I don't mean to lump them all up together since surely there are exceptions but from what I see a good majarity of them have no depth at all. They're basically simple minded barbaric type men that give a bad name for the rest of us.

Yeah, I'm actually very glad to be far removed from these types of idiots. It's funny how most times I find that along with the differing opinion about sports I also have so many other things uncommon with them. This kind of makes it seem like in order to be a sports fanatic one has to be a certain "type" of person. One isn't just turned on to it by chance; one has to be stupid enough.

Haha, and watch how many idiots on here start talking about how it's "MANLY" to like sports, and how "You must be GAY to not like sports"; "It's TESTOSTERONE!!!!". If only they were bright enough to see how these replies support what I'm saying.

Then there's the female sports fanatic. Typically they just like screwing jocks - that's how they got involved.

It's not just a man thing. I absolutely love to watch professional sports. I can't say exactly why, other than it's fun and exciting. Just like you enjoy reading, walking, and hobbies of that sort, others chose to enjoy sports as their hobby. The winner and loser of a game may not make a difference in a sports lover's life, but it sure does make those few hours a little more entertaining.

it's a way of socializing

why do you think the appeal of the Roman gladiators was

the Collosium

same thing

it's exciting, teamwork, many of us played sports when we were younger and it reminds us of cooperation and success.

you have to be able to have fun and be social

your not hurting anyone by liking sports but your holding yourself back if you don't

also, a lot of men have a competitive nature

and we were raised with sports so naturally we are drawn to them

and men aren't the only ones who like sports hun

ALSO WHAT DO YOU EXPECT EVERYONE TO DO AT THE BAR.. SIT AROUND AND WATCH "DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES" OR "AMERICAN IDOL"

grow some balls or ovaries .. what ever you are

I can only speak for myself. The teams I root for are local teams and tI have rooted for them since I was a child. Its the players that you look at and want to emulate. From that point on you just root for the same team.
