I missed that one...and what did he mean when he said children who go to failing schools have the option to go to other schools? What other schools?

I personally can't see how you could judge if it is working unless you monitor the success rates of the children who were educated during NCLB vs. those that weren't...but this would take 20, 30, 40 years.
Personally, my analysis at the moment is that the standards changed which is good, the expectations changed which is good, but the system constructed to reach these standards and expectations is absolutly rediculous and designed to fail. Further...what most people don't know about NCLB is that failing schools in the next couple of years run the risk of being taken over by government hired private corporations. (not private schools...private corporations.) Hmmmm....huge potential for conflict of interest there.
I will also take this opportunity to let everyone know that NCLB also states that schools are required to turn the school records of students over to the military. What does that have to do with not being left behind!?
