Only if you are coming from out of the country to Reno. Otherwise, you don't need one. You now need a Passport when you travel anywhere out of the country, like Mexico, Canada, etc. You will also need that Passport when returning to the states.

no its not only if you are traveling to another country
(including Mexico and Canada will you need a passport and that's
only (for now) if you are flying there,
since you are only going from (I presume Las Vegas to Reno
you wont need a passport but if you are flying you will need
a government ID as a drivers license or even a passport

Where are you coming from? Starting 1/23/07, anyone entering the US from Canada, Mexico, or the Carribean MUST have a passport. (Puerto Rico, Guam, and the US Virgin Islands are exempt because they're US territories.)

Your sister is wrong! You need a passport if you go to places like Canada, Mexico etc. Before you only needed a driver's license or birth certificate to go visit these places. Now the rules have changed.

abstain for 9 months - are these people crazy?? Just like triple up on the BC. I mean you really don't want to harm your sister - unless you do - then just make sure it looks like a total accident or you won't get any Christmas gifts from your family this year.
