It depends upon two things. The definition of a mansion and where it is located.
Everyone's idea of a mansion is different. If you live in a house trailer in some rural setting, it probably takes a lot less house for you to consider it a mansion than if you already live in a house of more than 5000 sq.ft.
I live in the suburbs of a big city. A house that cost $120k in a rural location should sell for over $300k here.

Size and location make a huge impact. Land prices for a good location can make a value sky-rocket. Take the 77sq ft apartment in London going for $325,000 (no that is not a typo) and it doesn't have heat or electricity!! That is all about location. Now if you find a piece of land, you will need to build and size will make a difference. You can probably price out a per sq/ft cost estimate and then mulitply it by the size, as well as work out what type of materials, special rooms or areas, and labour costs. Either that, or for $1 million, you can probably pick up a very nice house in a smaller centre or less 'popular' areas.

that would depend on the location. if it where a mansion close to a big city then you are looking at a range of a million and more. can you picture those mansions celebrities have? we are talkin major cash of 5 million and more! in more rural areas, mansions would be less expensive but only by a little.

its all about location.... for example, A house in South Central LA, (one of the biggest ghettos in the US) can cost $500,000 strictly because it is in Ca, and it is so expensive to live anywhere in CA. However, for 500,000, you can probably by a mansion plus a boatload of land in no-mans-land, Montana.
