i would recomend tampax pearl!! i had the same problem with the other kinds until i found pearl. if it hurts that bad start with the purple packaged ones since they are the smallest, you will just have to change it more often depending on how heavy your period is at the time.
hope this helps!

It could be the applicator that was causing you so much discomfort. Try O.B. They are smaller and don't have an applicator. You fan out the string end then put it on the tip of your finger to insert. Just make sure your hands are clean. They even have little trial packs that are a little containter with only 3 tampons in it. They're great to carry just a few around, plus you don't have to commit to buying a whole pack if you don't like them.

I think tampax "pearl" is the best. Try a little lubricant on the applicator if it is sticking, and if you pull the tampon out before it is wet it will dry you out a little bit inside, hurt, and make it very hard to put the next one in. Make sure you try the slender ones too when you are getting used to them., and put the applicator in as far as it will go (your fingers should be right at the entrance to the vagina). You will get used to them very soon. Good luck.

U by Kotex and Libra are really good. They both have a silk ease coating and go in and out easily.
Make sure you read the instructions and relax while inserting the tampon. Also make sure you have the right size suited to your flow and to the size of your vagina
I never use pads so tampons are just natural for me. Once you use one a few times it will get easier.

The most comfortable ones I have tried are the Playtex with the PLASTIC applicator not the cardboard kind. They are smooth going in and you can't feel them if inserted correctly. Just make sure you remove the plastic part after it's all the way in. Good luck!

For the first time, I would use Playtex regular. it is skinny and as your flow gets heavier, you will need bigger sizes.
You may want to try doing it with a mirror the first couple of times, and read the instructions on the box. If you play sports, I would usr the Sport one, I play soccer, and it works great because of the extra layer.

Playtex sports works really well, but since it is your first time using them you may have not put it in correctly, or you could have gotten a to big of a size. just be more carefully and put it in all the way. i suggest you try Playtex gentle glide.(regular size)

I don't use tampons, but at least according to the commericials, the best is supposed to be like O.B, or something, because they were developed by a female gynocologist, who would know a little more about a woman's body, so you could try those.

Tampax pearl. That is definitly the most comfortable for me. Make sure you are relaxed when you put it in, and dont force it. Make sure it is in far enough too. And be sure you are using a plastic applicator, they go in way easier. You may want to start with the lowest absorbency, the smallest, until you get used to them. :)

Tampax pearls! It probably hurt because you didnt put the tampon far enough before releasing the "cotton". I hope it works out for you!
