I think it's so stupid that a black person can be proud of his heritage and what not, but if a white person is proud of his heritage and says, "white power", he's a nazi and a skinhead and "white supremecist".

I understand your point. Really, it just depends on the situation. Just because you're proud to be white, doesn't make you a racist.

You're mixing up power with pride. Which is it? I personally don't agree with white or black power.

I can tell you though that most people associate white pride with white supremacy. And can you really blame them? How many white pride parades and rallies have there been that was positive--lifting up whites without tearing others down?

There is nothing wrong with whites being proud of their heritage. But people would question their need to keep reassuring themselves of it. Let's face it. This is a white man's world we live in. This is why non-whites constantly feel the need to promote pride within their own race.

Caucasians having a white pride parade would be like heterosexuals having a straight pride parade.

Due to the history of this country whites have always hard power even today and they tried to make black people feel inferior even though all races are equal. So black power could mean that a black person feels proud of their black roots. But a white person cant say that because of the history. I guess its a double standard kinda like saying how come a black person gets pulled over and harassed by the police when they drive nice cars but white people dont. I know its not really fair but it doesnt seem like its going to change anytime soon.

I am a black person, I do not believe in black people going around saying "Black Power" or a white person saying "White Power". I think it stirs up in a person a hateful spirit towards other people. I think that all nationalities should have appreciation for the accomplishments of their people, whether the accomplishments be small or large, but not using their race as a means to belittle others.

People need to stop comparing their lives to what another person does. We all have different circumstances and we all were raised differently. We all need to learn to be satisfied with whatever God has given us. Have a nice nite.

not true..black power is not a figure of speech for this generation of black people. The term was used by blacks back in the 60s and 70s. where have you been?

violent people can come in any color...what makes both these terms ugly is the intent of violence associated with the words black power and white power...not the words themselves.

the people who do this black power nonsense do not have the intelligence needed to understand that there saying black power is a racist remark .
they get the bunny shoes on and start jumping about when they hear of white power because so many of them really do think they are African Americans.
now we know that almost none of the blacks in America have ever been to Africa nor have there parents or grandparents or great grand parents . the idea that they are African is insane
such talk should be forbidden either a person is American. or they are what we call gone from America.

Exactly, people should not say that in the first place because it makes the people who are not part of the race feel overpowered. White people are as equal as black people and should be able to have the right to say "white power" just like black people are able to say "black power."

because there's a double standard for whites expressing their pride =[. if someone is just proud of their race then, it's not bad and whites should be able to say it too. but sometimes people use that phrase to sugarcoat different ideas, some of which are ones you mentioned like "supremacist" and in that case no one should be able to say it. i feel that it should be one way or the other everyone can or can't, but people are just too afraid to accuse a black person of racism for they may be called racist because it's politically incorrect. it's just one of those things wrong that probably will never change. =[

Because when "white power" was getting shouted it was while they we're wearing hoods and burning crosses on black people's lawns.
"Black power" was being said as a sign of strength that they could overcome what had and still is happening to them.

This is a great question. I would like to know this also. I agree with what Bill Cosby says about all of this racism stuff. I am not a racist by any means but I have seen plenty of reverse racism and that isn't right either.
