I have never had a problem getting along with anyone who was a decent person and that's why I don't understand how people can hate another person without getting to know them first. That attitude is not only racist but very immature also.

Well, I don't think historically they have ever "got along". You need to move if you feel that way. I live in a small town in so cal and I can tell you we have alot of peace here within the races. We have a Mexican store that my mom and I shop at (and we're Jews) where they speak Spanish on the loudspeaker and everything. The butcher's don't speak English, so you better know "carnitas y pescado". And there's always African-Americans in there shopping too!

I grew up in a medium-sized city in Ohio (about 100,000 people at that time), and we had a substantial Puerto Rican population. They were good, hard-working people, and I had many friends among them. Why there is such intolerance toward Latinos is beyond me, but I guess ignorance is more common than common decency. I'm sorry you've had a bad experience.
