Yes. Looks like she's absolutely right. Check the bottom link. It has a picture and a description.

You can take the pills to a pharmacist to identify, or, you can go to your local library and look at the photo section in the PDR (Physicians Desk Reference) That works best for brand names, but may be unhelpful with generics. A third option would be the local poison control center, or a hospital emergency room. I suppose there may be websites, but I am unaware of any.

You should be worries if they are Darvocets. That's generic for percocet. A narcotic painiller. Go to www.webmd.com and type the numbers in. That shoud bring up what type of pill it is and quite possibly a picture.

I looked this pill up byits markings on a website called About.com drug finder.
It very likely contains acetaminophen and propoxyphene and is, in fact, a pain reliever. May be sold as Darvon or Darvocet.
It is a prescription drug, so unless she has been injured recently and is under a doctor's care, then she shouldn't be let off the hook yet.

Possibly but even better... Most pharmacies carry drug books near the counter that have pictures and descriptions of all pills. Or if not a book store would have it. It's worth having as a reference.
You could even show them to the pharmacist and ask them what they are but you may not want to carry them around since they could turn out to be illegal.

I know one of the generic names for darvocet is propoxyphene. One of the dosages has 5111 and a V. Another dose has a 5118 and a V.

You can buy a PDR (physicians desk reference). You could try to type that in on the internet and see if it will pull anything up. But a PDR will show you the actual pill and tell you anything you want to know about it.

go to yahoo health then the drug guide it will give a detailed description. your daughter really shouldnt be messing with it- I'd treat it a little more serious then smoking pot. That pill is closely related to a percaset, which is a pain killer-but if you dont have pain it will get you high.

that sounds like it is vicodin, or the generic name, hydrocodone, to me. the best thing you can do if they all look precisely alike and you don't want your daughter to know, is to take one to the local pharmacist. she can easily tell what it is. if pills are different, take one of each.
you are going to have to get to the root of why your daughter has hidden pills from you and why she's taking them.
