What operating system? Windows XP will login automatically if the machine is not a part of a domain and if only 1 account exists and it doesn't have a password, if I remember correctly. There are ways to do it through the registry as well, though, if the computer is part of a domain or has multiple accounts on it.

In the registry editor (Start -> Run -> regedt32), go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon. Inside the Winlogon "folder", make sure that the DefaultDomain and DefaultUserName keys have the correct values, and then add a DefaultPassword key with the password to the account you set in the DefaultUserName key. Then, update the AutoAdminLogon key to a value of "1" (without the quotes). After that, reboot the PC, and it will login automatically to the account you specify in the steps above.
