The $50.00 gift certificate. I might not know how expensive the pen was and might just toss it aside, but if I go in and BUY my own pen by myself, I would know how much it costs and will treasure it because I like it and I picked it out.
Also, I have my heart set on some books I can't quite afford and would like the $50.00 to go get them.

I actually like this question. I love collecting pens for some reason. Whenever I feel a little low I always go and buy myself a pen or 2. I'm weird. But I love books too and I have enough pens, so I'll take the book voucher. After all knowledge is power.
