Can you become a Paramedic with just a GED??

I believe you need to chek with your city's regulations on that. But I am pretty sure you need to have some of the paramedic classes/EMT completed before you are officially hired-These are usually offered at a local community college.
To find out, you should contat your local fire department headquarters and they can inform you of the requirements.

Yes, I became a paramedic and all I had was a GED. Having a GED doesn't mean that you are somehow less smart; for me, it was because I was homeschooled and there was no way I could get a regular high school diploma.

As far as I know, the vast majority of paramedic schools will accept either a GED or a high school diploma. Paramedic school is very intensive; if you feel you are weak in math, sciences, or English; it would be very helpful to brush up in these areas first.

Yes you can in Texas. You will need to sign up for the basic EMT class. Then take the test to become an EMT. Then you will have to take and pass the EMT Intermediate. After that you can take and pass the EMT paramedic. My son is a paramedic and has been for several years, and he did it with a GED. Talk to your ambulance service (if you have one) They can give you all the info you will need.
