You're partially correct, but you're missing the big picture. Slavery has been around since the dawn of man. Remember the Egyptians and Hebrews, Roman slaves. So blaming slavery on the government and White people or African Counterparts is stupid... People enslave other people; every race has been enslaved before. And races have been enslaved by their own race. So the only people to blame are humans. We do things like that to each other. Slavery in the United States the blame can go both ways; Africans were stolen, and sold. Back then people didn’t think like we do now. They were not concerned about 150 years into the future, and where the slave's race will end up. They were just concerned about what would keep them alive then. Slavery was a franchise, and a monopoly.

As stated before, everyone has been enslaved at some point. However, while there were black kings that sold black people away, white people DID keep it going in America. As for slavery in America, who else is to blame? America profited off of the blood sweat and tears of slaves. Not only that, but there are plenty of psychological effects that came afterward. While black people may have been "free" from slavery, black people still were not free in other ways.

That has nothing to do with slavery. That is just plain common courtesy.
For all they know, that man's ancestors fought for the freedom of slaves and the rights for women to vote. Many white people were tortured and killed fighting for the freedom of slaves.
What those girls did did was ignorant and rude. They would not want to be treated that way. Nor would they want other young people to treat their beloved elders in such a fashion.
Young people should always respect an elder. Even if it's an elder they do not like. Some day we will all be old. We who have given disrespect will GET disrespect.
And just so you know, slavery is NOT over with.

Africans Enslaving each other is something that was done to prisoners of war or kigdom expansions. The same as in any other warring culture.
On the other hand, it was whites that worked out a system of packing Africans in the hulls of ships like sardines to get their"cargo" to America. The crimes committed on those ships were so atrocious that many Africans jumped overboard rather than facing whatever their captors had in store for them. If the cargo became too heavy, or if food supplies became low, They simply threw the slaves overboard.
Once the slaves arrived in America, they did not enslave themselves for 400 yrs. They did not sell themselves, their children, or seperate families. The white slave masters did'nt rape the women in the slave quarters because they were treating them like people, but like property.
So how can black people be blamed for being slaves?
Its not like white people took Africans from African captors to free them in America. They took them for profit.
Those girls on the bus may have been rude, but they may have some unresolved feelings about the past that they need to work out. I have to admit, I do things for white people all the time, and I can't help but wonder if they would do the same for me.
When I read yahoo answers, I know that there are still lots of whites young and old that absolutely hate black people based on what they don't understand. The old ones I expect to feel the hate. The younger the offender, the more I know this world has a long way to go.

Which slavery are you talking about? Every race on the face of this planet has been in slavery at one time or another. No one race has more right to complain about it than any other.

Well the Arabs were trading slaves before the Africans were, but do know that slavery as it existed before American (not even white people, but Americans specifically) chattel slavery was something else.
here are a few differences:
1. A slave was considered human and treated like such.
2. Slaves could marry and have kids, and thier families stayed intact.
3. Slaves were allowed to be educated
4. it was possible for a slave to have a job outside of his master's house. and for that reason save enough money to buy his freedom.
5. and slavery was not based on race, anybody could be a slave.
Not until slavery came to America did it become so unusually cruel and inhumane. For that, white people are to blame.

so by asking that question, you really hope to get an honest
answer, here on YA? lol!
Trust me if their African counterparts had any idea of the shame and the humiliation that awaited them in the new world, they would not have sold them!
Besides, Whites DID plunder and loot villages, without the help of other blacks, for slaves!
Stop trying to put your race on a moral pedestal here!

That would be the Jews, they owned and operated all the slave ships, for much profit. Blacks are not to blame they was just minding their own business and next thing they knew, whacked on the head, kidnapped, put on a ship, sold into slavery. Are you really this stupid that you don't know this?
