The probability that 08/02/07 stands for August 2, 2007 is greater than for February 8, 2007 because of the commonality of mm/dd/yy usage. In the last 10 years, I only encountered dd/mm/yy once, an expiry date of a grocery item and the numerals appear like 08-02/07. Note the (-) after 08 instead of a (/).

It can be a Julian date for February 8, 2007 or regular date for August 2, 2007. Julian dating is used by medical offices quite a bit, but I'm sure other businesses use them as well. They're suppose to streamline filing systems, but I think they're a pain.

In Canada, as in England and most other nations it is Feb.8/07. As The USA is our main trading partner, it becomes a bit awkward. There is an attempt, at present ,to mainly facilitate the computer world to have everyone go to largest unit to smallest unit, i.e. Year/month/day. It would make more sense, today would read: 2007/01/25.

It has less to do with your country than what you are used to.
I worked for the Canadian government and they use "day/month/year" so they would say your answer is Feb 8, 2007.
I worked at a bank here too; and it was written as it is said so "August 2, 20007"
Just depends what you like or what where you are wants done.
