I put my foot in my mouth the other day when I told my brother that I would give hime my camera if he didn't have one by the time I get a new one. I don't want to give him my camera b/c I love it. I really love my camera but want a new one. The one I have is very light weight and stylish and I want to keep it for easy travel. How do I keep it without starting a arguement with him? I want to buy a new one soon but I don't want to give it up. He is weird because he will get mad but people have the right to change their mind.

if the old one is all so wonderful why do you need to buy a new one? you could keep your old camera and not purchase a new one but i would think that if you do buy a new camera you should keep your word and give him the old one.
you must have heard the old adage 'do unto others'
its a good way to live and you will always have good karma!
enjoy whatever camera you end up with.

People have the right to change their minds, but to preserve good relations provided its not a large financial strain get him an inexpensive but decent quality camera of his own. He may still be disapointed but you keep your camera and he still has one.

Tell him how much you love that camera and just because you are getting a new one it doesn't mean that you are giving this one to him. It's only on loan until he gets his own and what that means is it belongs to both of you for now.
