there have been a lot of scarey storms for me. each and every summer season theres a minimum of one that freaks the sh#t out of me.The sky begins to exhibit black then there is rumbles of thunder. The t.v. begins going beep beep and also you seem and in huge formidable letters operating accross the exhibit screen states a extreme typhoon heading our way able to manufacturing tornadoes. at the same time as its finally upon you the thunder crashes so loud the abode shakes and motor vehicle alarms are spark off. Lightening flashes in many cases and the wind is blowing so demanding that the wide pine timber outdoors are swaying. Rain is coming down so demanding you may listen it pounding on your roof and abode windows and its bouncing up off the line. It lasts for roughly 15 - 20 min. notwithstanding it feels like an hour for me.i does no longer innovations it a lot if I had underground look after in case of a tornado, yet I stay on the third floor in an house construction without basement, so i'm getting somewhat freaked throughout those climatic circumstances.

The storms of April 3, 1974. Fortunately, we didn't have any tornado hit where we lived in Lexington, Ky., but it was almost constant severe thunderstorms until after midnight that night. They knocked out electrical power over the entire city. The sight of the city with no lights at all was very eerie.

The Winter Blizzard of 1978, in Indianapolis, IN. Indiana has lots of snow storms, but that one shut down the city. People were forced to stay at work, with no food or sleeping quarters. Hospital personnel were forced into triple or more shifts. They were asking people to please stay away from the hospital unless you were seriously ill. The mayor finally had to issue a curfew of no vehicles on the streets to try and clear up the mess.

I was in the middle of a downburst. Knocked the power out for 5 days and knocked down trees, etc. Blew so much soil from the field across the row that even though our house was closed up tight, absolutely everything was covered in a fine layer of dirt. It looked like no one had dusted for a year.

I was in a tornado once that was coming right at me. At the last minute it lifted off the ground, went over my house, and came back down in my back yard. All the farms and houses in front of my house for about a mile were destroyed in a path about 1/4 mile wide. All the houses directly behind my house had their roofs blown off for about another 1/2 mile. We had a lot of windows blown in and about a foot of water on the first floor. I happened to be on the front porch watching the tornado coming right at me. When I realized it was gonna hit us, I grabbed the doorknob to go in but the door wouldn't open. I felt myself being lifted off the porch. When the glass in the door broke, I was able to open the door because the pressure was holding it closed. A huge picture window fell in and really clobbered my brother - he had 2 of the biggest blackest eyes I've ever seen. I was covered with cuts from flying glass.
