Yes, ignorance is dangerous. The danger lies in being uneducated and uninformed. The lack of proper education and correct information can lead to fear. Fear is the basis of hate and anger. Hate and anger are the basis of negative events that happen in every day life both within ourselves and to others. Ignorance is both debilitating and destructive.

The quotation is "Ignorance is bliss!", and perhaps it is for the ignorant, but for society in general, and especially in a democracy, I feel certain that ignorance is indeed dangerous. I could give some current examples which I won't, not wanting to offend the perpetrators of ignorant behavior, some of whose names are well known! If the majority of the population are ignorant (including being uninformed), those who are not, who will then be in positions to make decisions for the rest (and not always in the best interests of the ignorant), will assume power. The ignorant abdicate the opportunities to control their lives and futures to a great extent, especially politically.

Ignorance is extremely dangerous to us all

The cause of so many wars, racial tensions, neighbors fighting neighbors for eons and eons

If we all walked a little in the other man shoe...we would gain knowledge and understanding

To be ignorant is the one of the worse things in mankind, second
only to staying ignorant and refusing to gain knowledge

Then again...........ignorance is bliss

With the state of the world at times its great to be able to bury your head in the sand and ignore it all

To be a child again.......................

Yes, but not as dangerous as the condition of having- just- enough- information- to- feel- confident- but- not- enough to -actually- know- what- you're- doing. The english language should have a word for this condition.

Yes, of course. Especially when ignorant persons do not conform to the advertising/informing rules of safety in factories, airplanes, road signs, etc.
